Abstract : | As is well known, actinomycosis is one of the chronic diseases. It seems that an allergic reaction will be produced with the organisms which are presented at the part of the lesion for a long time and with specific antibodies which are developing with the antigen in the same individual. Experimentally, rabbits were sensitized with an injection of live and killed organisms, and the animals received a reinjection of the live or killed bacteria on an ear of the sensitizing rabbits to induce an allergic reaction. Immediate allergic reaction induced at the site of the injection was studied. Two reactions occurred simultaneously at the site of the injection - the immediate allergic inflammation being elicited with the appearance of the antibody in the blood stream, and the development of local actinomycotic lesion. |
