Abstract : | [Abstract] The formation of the secondary dentin after the completion of the growth of root apex causes narrowing of the pulp cavity. This affects the formation of the vascular structure in dental pulp adversely. Development of the dental pulp in the canine of mature cats were examined by the resin cast method. The resin cast method is a useful technique to create the cast model of vascular structure by injecting a low viscosity resin into the artery of cats and by dissolving the tissues. In the coronal pulp TCN (Terminal Capillary Network) disappears and the network is replaced with "U"-shaped loops. In the root, pulp pinloops consisting of capillaries are observed. In the apical pulp, TCN displaying flat, VN (venular network) disappears and TCN directly flowing into the trunk venous capillaries. After the closure of root apex, the formation of the secondary dentin progresses from the apical pulp toward the coronal pulp. |
