Abstract : | [Abstract] This paper supplies a guidance for mathematical morphology. The important parameters are the structuring elements and operation equations. The standard operations of erosion, dilation, opening, and closing and their relations are explained. These operations relate immediately to shape and therefore mathematical morphology may be more effective than conventional image processing in bone trabecula pattern analysis if suitable structuring elements conform. |
