Abstract : | [Abstract] The author produced an element step and performed a basic experiment using it in one-shot dual energy subtraction by computed radiography (CR). Basic studies using the technique were carried out to determine which elements would be suitable for possible use as contrast media in the clinical setting. Contrast media using elements with an atomic number close to 65 (terbium: Tb) were shown to be effective in the subtraction of bone images. The results suggest that the development of a new contrast medium using those elements would make the widespread clinical application of one-shot dual energy subtraction possible. |
