Abstract : | [Abstract] This study was to develop electrocardiogram analysis and display software using Wavelet analysis. This method was applied to simulated sine waves and simulated electrocardiogram waves on a CRT (cathode ray tube). Then compared these results with results obtained using conventional Fourier analysis. As a result, the changing frequency range, directions (red=positive, blue=negative), and amplitude (color intensity) of the initial waveform were represented with color as a Wavelet spectrum, therefore, allowing a quantitative representation over time. Further, Wavelet analysis allowed the study of continuous waves which was not possible with Fourier analysis. This suggesting that this method would be applicable as a method of monitoring of changes in cardiac function during dental treatments. |
