Abstract　： Hypoxia is a common environmental stress factor and is associated with physiological and pathological conditions related to cancer invasion and metastasis. Differentiated embryo-chondrocyte expressed gene 1 (DEC1/BHLHB2/Sharp2/Stra13) has been described as novel hypoxia-related tissue factor. Basic-helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor DEC1 is significantly up-regulated in various types of cancers, and transfection with DEC1 decreases cell proliferation, apoptosis of tumor cells.
