Abstract : A number of methods for the study of morphology of the dental pulp cavity has been employed, with improvements made on some of the methods. The most representative methods among these are as follows: 1. Casting of metal, aceton-celluloid or Cautchuk rubber into the pulp cavity, followed by corrosion of the tooth (Preiswerk, Fischer, Hess). 2. Injection of india ink into the pulp cavity, followed by making clear in Carbol or Winter green oil (Moral, Ono). None of these methods were employed without opening the pulp cavity by drilling or boring. Corrosion or making clear of the dental hard tissue alone made the outline of the tooth vague or disappear. The present work was undertaken by casting a colored radiopaque medium into the pulp cavity through the apical foramen of the root, followed by X-ray photography and later by making clear for the permanent specimen. Therefore it was possible that the entire form of the pulp cavity was completely preserved, and the relation of the pulp cavity to the outline of the tooth was recorded as a picture.
