Abstract : The following is an evaluation of the technique presented above. One hundred fifty-seven teeth were treated with this technique. The fit of the silver cone was verified with postoperative X-ray immediately after treatment. Table 1 shows a classification of treated patients by age, sex, and location of the treated teeth. The breakdown is weighed by the fact that female patients outnumbered male patients by 98 to 47. Also of significance is the data concerning instances of mandibular caries treated; posterior occurrences were six times greater than anterior occurrences (60:10). Table 2 shows the condition of the pulp (vital or non-vital) in connection with age, sex and location factors of Table 1. Pulpless or non-vital (n-v) conditions are further divided into groups denoting whether or not rarefaction was present. The area of greatest concern; i.e., the most unfavorable conditions for postoperative repair (pulpless with rarefaction), was most often found in the mandibular posterior location.
