Abstract : [Abstract] The method of an examination of blood groups from fingerprints which was developed by Ishiyama and Okada in 1974 by the application of Modified Coombs' mixed cell agglutination reaction has suddenly been noticed with keen interest. For the purpose of confirming and simplifying Ishiyama and Okada's method, if possible, so as to perform the examination faster and more easily, a study was done by the authors on the method of examination of blood groups from fingerprints by mixed agglutination reaction, together with an experiment on the possibility of determining blood groups from fingerprints left behind, using paper, glass and vinyl, and the results are as follows : 1. By detecting fingerprints with carbon powder and aluminum powder and transferring them onto the tape, the determination of blood groups was done without damaging the material. 2. In order to make the examination easier to do, blood corpuscles were stained with Amid Black 10B and Fuchsin Acid. 3. The examination of blood groups was possible not only from the fingerprints on the tape, but also from the fingerprints left behind on paper, glass and vinyl. The rate of hitting the right, however, was not more than approximately 90%.
