Abstract : [Abstract] The examinations of blood groups with a red cell adherence test using 0.1 mg of dental plaque (120 cases), 0.1 mg of dental calculus (79 cases) and saliva stains on varying substances (140 cases) resulted in coincidence between the detected blood group and the original blood group in all the samples examined. Also, the determination was possible from dental calculus which had elapsed three years (20 cases) and saliva stains which had elapsed eight months (20 cases on filter). When the saliva stained filter was diluted, the rate of coincidence reduced with an elapse of time, especially in the cases of nonsecretory type the determination itself seemed to become difficult. In the cases of saliva stained threads (2-3 mm cotton, silk and nylon), there was a tendency that the determination of blood group from saliva stains on animal and chemical fibers was more difficult than that on botanical fibers.
