Abstract : [Abstract] Separations and determinations of cupric, silver, cadmium, mercury and lead ions in the tooth were investigated, utilizing the systematic cation-extraction procedure (established by Forster and Schwabe) and the "known addition method" with specific-ion electrodes. Pulverized tooth dried overnight at 60-70℃ was dissolved in HCl, and stood for six or more hours. First of all, these metals were extracted as complex compounds with DADDTC (diethylammoniumdiethyldithiocarbamate) ; next, cupric, silver, mercury and cadmium were extracted as complex compounds with CN ; then, retained lead was extracted with HCl. Thereafter, cadmium was extracted as complex compound with DDTC (diethyldithiocaroamate), and then extracted by HCl. The complex compounds of cupric, silver and mercury with CN were decomposed by formalin. Finally, the pH values of these solutions were adjusted and then each metal was determined by the known addition method with specific-ion electrodes.
