Abstract : [Abstract] In our experiments, immune response of rabbits treated with 6MP or azathioprine has been studied with the production of precipitin antibody and skin reactions. Treating rabbits with 6MP or azathioprine, the production of the specific antibody, was inhibited during the first stage of our experiment. At this stage, allergic reaction was difficult to develop even after an allergic-reaction-inducing injection. However, antibody detecting in the blood stream, erythema (redness, conspicuous edema and swelling) occurred at the injected sites following the provoking injection of the antigen. The antibody of the rabbits treated with 6MP and azathioprine disappeared from the blood stream faster than that of untreated control animals.
