Abstract : [Abstract] The relation of dietary and/or oral hygiene habits to dental caries experience of primary teeth in four-year-old 247 children were investigated. Two statistical methods, a nonparametric test by Kolmogorov-Smirnov and ridit analysis by Bross, were applied. Discussion was down widely on the results obtained through these statistics. It may be considered that the habitual drinking experience of the fermented milk beverages could be a high contribution to the caries experience. However, it must be considered that the toothbrushing habit could show a high contribution rate too, because the caries experience was considerably modified by the oral hygiene or plaque scores. On the other hand, any caries-preventing or cariostatic factor might be contained in cow's powdered milk.
