Abstract : [Abstract] As one means of identifying, severely charred body, investigations were carried out on thermostability through blood group activity and stainability of the epithelial cell by taking epithelial cells from the dorsal surface of the human tongue and using Amido Black 10B staining and mixed agglutination reaction. Similar to the tendency in human saliva, the activities of blood group antigen in the epithelial cell under heating by increasing the temperature showed an abrupt reduction at 180℃-200℃, gently diminishing thereafter and disappearing at 300℃-5 min. Also, the stainability of the cell (nucleus) remained intact for over 96 hours, but was suddenly lowered at about 150℃ and disappeared at 240℃-5 min. The activities of the blood group antigen remained longer than the stainability of the epithelial cell.
