Abstract　： [Abstract] Duplicated primary upper lateral incisors which appeared in three male infants with cleft lip and those in three male fetuses with cleft lip were examined macroscopically and microscopically respectively. The previously published case reports on this subject were reviewed and erroneous interpretations on the particular supernumerary tooth or teeth by some of the workers were pointed out. The possible developmental mechanism of duplicated lateral incisor formation was speculated in relation to cleft lip formation as compared with those of the noncleft side and those in the noncleft subject.
