Abstract : [Abstract] A xeroradiographic system has been developed specifically for dentistry. In this study, pictures made by using the new imaging technique (110 system) were compared visually with conventional intraoral films for image quality and the diagnostic significance of this apparatus was evaluated. Compared to conventional film technique, the 110 system is superior as follows : (1) Excellent image quality, (2) reduced patient exposure, (3) 20 second processing, (4) no darkroom required, (5) opaque, archival image and (6) non-use of silver. This new imaging system designed specifically for intraoral use promises to add new dimensions to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of oral diseases.
