Abstract : It was reported by our previous studies that application of Laser Holography proved to be effective for study in the field of prosthodontics. In regard to its evolution, two methods are currently available for measuring the displacement on the diffuse surface with Laser Speckles. The first is speckle interferometry, while the latter is based on Speckle Photography, by which the amount and direction of speckle displacement can be determined from Young's fringes which are obtained by optical Forrier transformation of doubly exposed negatives. Therefore, Speckle Photography is being used for measuring in-plane displacement and tilt angle. The authors have also tried to apply this Speckle Photography to prosthodontic study as one of our successive experiments on mechanical displacement or deformation of full cast crowns.
