Abstract : [Abstract] Several layers of developed venous plexus were seen running longitudinally in the submucosal tissues of dog palate mucosa. They were particularly developed in the anterior teeth region (three to five layers), while being less developed toward the rear (one layer), where they connect the small veins of the soft palate. From the rear of the molar teeth region to the soft palate there were noted a large number of venous valves in the venous plexus (inner diameter 100-800μm). These valves were seen at intervals of 0.3-3.0mm. There was a tendency that the larger their diameter, the smaller their interval. They were seen even in diameters of less than 0.2mm in this area. Most of the valves were bicusps. They were located not only at the bifurcation of veins, but also in the way between bifurcations. Heretofore, there has been no report showing three-dimensionally the existence of the venous plexus in this area and the distribution of valves therein.
