Abstract : | [Abstract] As a result of preparing monoclonal anti-Lea antibody according to the cell fusion method, the substance was judged to be IgG1 class monoclonal antibody from its gel precipitation reaction. Its antibody value was considerably high, proving it to be a monoclonal antibody effective for utilization to a wide extent. The phenotype frequency was determined on the Japanese inhabitants in the southern region of Tohoku district by the use of this monoclonal antibody and polyclonal anti-Leb antibody, and the results obtained were: Le(a+b-) type-26%; Le(a-b+) type-57% and Le(a-b-) type-7%, but no Le(a+b+) type was detected. When the gene frequency was calculated by supposing Le(a+) type to be recessive, Lea gene frequency was 0.51. Comparison of this frequency with the phenotype frequency already investigated of a Tokyo population showed a trend in which the frequency of Le(a+b-) type was somewhat higher. |
