Abstract : [Abstract] The purpose of this study is to investigate the pathway of leukocyte extravasation caused by experimentally induced acute pulpitis in dog's teeth using corrosion resin cast, light microscope, scanning and transmission electron microscopes. Leukocyte emigration is primarily identified in the venules of the venular network specifically in the central core area of the pulp, and the leukocyte emigrates from the lumen through the intercellular junction of endothelium. The leukocyte temporarily stops between the endothelium and basement membrane or pericyte, until completion of passage through the vessel into the interstitial space. Finally, the leukocyte passes into the perivascular connective tissue and beyond.
