Abstract : | [Abstract] Denture design requires considerations from many standpoints both from the vital and denture sides. On the vital side, there is a need to reduce the harmful effects on the periodontal tissue. On the denture side, it is necessary to prevent a breakage of the denture during functioning as well as respond to esthetic considerations. Reports on research carried out concerning these factors show that the strong bonding that results from resin (hereafter known as adhesive resin) containing 4-META, which possesses metal and adhesiveness, prevents accumulation of bacteria layers and is also esthetically pleasing. Reports also attest to a reduced breakage from the finishing section. Nevertheless, up to now there have been almost no reports on deformation of the metal frame when using adhesive of nonadhesive resins. The following is a report on measurement of such distortion amounts. |
