Abstract : | [Abstract] I put together my thoughts "for making better dental casts." The contents of the paper are as follow. 1. All the degree of the measured hygroscopic expansion is not useful for the expansion of a mold space and they seemed to be spread out by deforming wax patterns which are partly different in strength. If the expansion during setting would be used to enlarge the molds, the expansive power ought to be large. 2. When the casting liner is partly unlined on the upper and lower sides of the rings, casts are inevitably deformed. Lining on all the surface of the rings is desirable. 3. The suppression of the casting contraction occurs in the gypsum boned cristobalite investments. 4. So, I made experimentally the investment which contains less amount of cristobalite and more quartz to reduce the occurrence of casting stress as far as possible. |
