Abstract : [Abstract] The word "epulis" originally means "on the gingiva", but currently the term is used to designate all benign localized tumors of the gingiva. Frequently, it is an inflammatory reaction or the product of reactive proliferation and real tumors are rare. Epulis is a comparatively frequently observed lesion and may develop on any part of the alveolar process, but the predilection sites are the interdental gingiva, particularly the interdental papilla. In the present study, we surgically removed a clinically diagnosed epulis hemangiotoma with a CO2 laser and present here a summary of this case.
