Abstract : [Abstract] Fundamental studies of one-shot dual energy subtraction were performed to obtain images of contrast medium alone by eliminating bone images. However, subtraction in actual images of the body requires elimination of images of not only bone, but also of soft tissue, which continuously alters in thickness. In the present study, we examined changes in X-ray transmission to contrast medium, bone, and soft tissue as tube voltage and a filter for energy separation were changed. It was revealed that a contrast medium, for which conventional iodine was used, was sufficiently separated not only from bone, but from soft tissue as well, when a tube voltage of 50 kVp and a 0.8 mm copper filter were used.
