Abstract : | [Abstract] A theory of mathematical morphology was applied, to characteristic extraction of bone trabeculae pattern on panoramic Computed Radiography (CR) in which bone disease and destruction of bone trabeculae were observed. As a result, the features of fractured bone trabecular patterns in binary images were obtained from original images by processing with the skeleton operation using a disc-shaped single structuring element. This study suggests that the mathematical morphology filter operation may be an effective tool in the field of Computer Aided Diagnosis of Medical Images (CADM) for the diagnosis of bone diseases. |
