Abstract　： [Abstract] This study correlated the inclines of wear facets and sequential guidance in 82 subjects on mounted casts. On all maxillary teeth, the angulation of guidance was measured connecting the intercuspal position and the most eccentric occlusal contact prior to disclusion. The inclines of wear facets were measured on the same teeth. All measurements were made using a 3D-digitizer and were referenced to the axis-orbital plane. Twenty-two subjects also underwent computerized axiography. This provided horizontal condylar inclinations which were compared with the inclines of sequential guidance and wear facets. The correlation coefficients between the sequential guidance and wear did not exceed 0.39. The horizontal condylar inclination, sequential guidance, and wear facet incline were significantly correlated on the left incisors, right canine, right first premolar, and right molars showing correlation coefficients from 0.4 to 0.6. Only the right canine guidance and the horizontal condylar inclination had a correlation coefficient of 0.68. The results of this study did not substantiate the associations of wear, sequential guidance, and horizontal condylar inclination in agreement with other studies that did not find interdependence of wear and occlusal factors.
