Abstract : [Abstract] The application of fluoride releasing dental materials is recommended to the high carious risk patients. It was well known that the released fluoride (F) from dental materials could diffuse into tooth structure, enhance the anti-cariogenic properties and inhibit recurrent caries. The aim of this study was to determine the F diffusion into dentin from various fluoride releasing materials using electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA) that was improved as high precise for fluorine. A result of one month indicated that fluorine surpassed the bonding layer and diffused into dentine. The more resin ingredient decreases, the deeper F diffuse into the dentin. F dissolves at early period from outer surface, but F can release for long term from bonded surface.
