Abstract : [Abstract] The calcifying odontogenic cyst is a rare odontogenic lesion that has the features of a cyst and a neoplasm, and is characterized by the presence of ghost cells. Histological diversity and the possible aggressive behavior of this lesion often cause confusion in treatment modalities. The intention of this research was to describe a unilocular lesion in the anterior segment of the mandible of a 64-year-old male patient, which was later diagnosed as a calcifying odontogenic cyst. The unusual behavior and controversial clinical prognosis of this unique lesion are discussed in this paper.
