Abstract : [ABSTRACT] The paste / paste type light-cured filling glass-ionommer cements (GICs) were newly developed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate an effectiveness of these GICs by following aspects ; fluoride (F) diffusion into dentin, bond strength and morphology of adhesive interface. As control, powder / liquid type light-cured GIC and conventional GIC were used. Past / past type GICs showed tight adhesive interface appearance, however, clear interfacial structure was not observed. Bend strength of past / past type GICs indicated higher values compared with that of powder / liquid type GICs. The F from past / past type GICs was detected up to 9.4~11.3 μm depth at 28 days' storage. Furthermore, it was indicated that new conditioner containing 4-MET has mild etching effects and acts as a primer improving and stabilizing dentin adhesive. It was concluded that paste / paste type filling GICs were expected to be useful restorative material according to its tight adhesion, higher bond strength and F release.
