Abstract : | A 58-year-old man came to our department with the chief complaint of tumors of the upper 1st molar on the left side. Symptoms of the left mandible joint were seen at the same time. As a result of various examinations, it was considered that occlusal disharmony and heavy periodontal disease were the causes. Reconstruction of the occlusion was referenced as the objective criterion, with excellent results. In the four years after completion ef the final prosthetics, relapse of temporomandibular symptoms and phonation disorder have not been seen, and excellent conditions are maintained. The vertical dimension, occlusal plane and guidance inclination of the occlusal surfuce are critical factors in the reconstruction of occlusion. It is thought that these settings for organic congruents protect the teeth, periodontal tissue and temporomandibular joint. It is suggested that organic hamony in the reconstruction of occlusion is an important factor for an excellent prognosis. |
