Abstract : [Abstract]Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) results from a malfunction of the upper airway and consequently, in some patients, in severe hypoxemia during sleep. Severe sleep apnea patients are at extreme risk for general anesthesia. This report concerns a patient with severe OSA that was safely managed with nasal continuous positive airway pressure (N-CPAP) in the perioperative period. The use of N-CPAP prevents airway obstructive apnea without major complications.
