Abstract : [Abstract] With the purpose of improving the hydrolytic stability and durability of resin cement, three fluorine-substituted monomers and a polymer were added into adhesive consisting of [PMMA/MMA/4-META/TBB]. The fluorine-substituted compounds were hydrophilic methyl α-fluoroacrylate (MFA) compared with methyl methacrylate (MMA), and hydrophobic 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate (3FMA) and 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl α-fluoroacrylate (3FFA), and poly(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate) (P3FMA). The adhesives [P3FMA/MMA+MFA/4-META/TBB] and [P3FMA/MFA+3FFA/4-META/TBB] showed greater adhesive strength and durability on bovine enamel and dentin compared with [PMMA/MMA/4-META/TBB].
