Abstract : 「1.

Abstract : A histologic observation was made to a geminated tooth bud A¬ and fused tooth buds CB|, both of which appeared in monkey fetuses, and a fused tooth buds A|A which appeared in a human cyclopian fetus. The result of the present study would be interpreted by the author as to the mechanisms of fused tooth formation as follows : The tooth bud A which was composed of two buds showed a developing picture of a geminated tooth. As to the fused tooth buds CB, the size, shape and related structures such as whether the successional dental lamina was present or not were considered to determine it to be a developing picture of the fused teeth, not of the duplicated teeth. For its reference a histologic picture of duplicated tooth buds also was presented. As to the fused tooth buds A|A of the cyclop whose premaxilla was absent, the reason why united fused upper central milk incisor buds and bilateral upper lateral milk incisor buds developed in the maxillary bone was discussed. For fusion of the tooth buds which was related to the regeneration of the tissue in fetal life, the discussion covered both when tissue repair began and how regeneration occurred in conjunction with the embryopathy.
