Abstract : 「抄録」 Lacassagneが1940年マウス顎下腺線条部における性的な形態学的差異について報告したが, ラットについては一致した見解に到達していない. 我々は先にラットにおいても性的差異のあることを報告した. 今回は正常ラット, 去勢雌雄ラット, 去勢雌雄ラットに女性及び男性ホルモンを投与した場合の顎下腺線条部の病理組織学的検索を行ない, 同時に体重, 顎下腺重量, 顎下腺重量の体重比を測定し, さらに顎下腺線条部の直径を顕微鏡的測定法によりmicrometerを用いて計数的検索を行ない, これらを比較検討した. 実験結果は正常ラットで雌雄を比較すると明らかに, 雄は線条部直径(46.4±2.4μ)が大きく, 雌(39.3±1.9μ)と有意の差を示し, 顆粒も豊富で核は基底部に圧迫される如き所見を示している. また線条部の占める割合も多い. 雌は平均体重値は少なく, 平均顎下腺重量値も低い, 卵巣摘出雌ラットでは線条部直径(41.9±1.7μ)の拡大, 精巣摘出雄ラットで線条部直径(43.4±1.9μ)の縮少がみられ, 正常雌雄ラットの中間型を示す. 去勢雌ラットに女性ホルモン投与群は正常雌ラット以上の強い雌性化を示し, 線条部直径(36.3±2.0μ)の縮少, 及び顆粒の消失がみられ, 男性ホルモン投与群は正常雄ラットとほぼ同様で, 線条部直径(47.3±3.8μ)は増大, 顆粒が認められる. 去勢雄ラットに女性ホルモン投与群は組織学的に正常雌ラットと同様の所見を示し, 線条部直径(39.6±4.4μ)の縮少, 顆粒の消失が認められる. 男性ホルモン投与群は線条部直径(51.9±2.1μ)は増大し, 顆粒出現は極めて著明で正常雄ラット以上の強い雄性化を示す. ラット顎下腺線条部の性的差異は確認され, 線条部直径に明らかな有意の差異があることを認めた. その由来について他の種々内分泌臓器との相関の研究課題は多く残されているものと考えられ, 引続き研究追加する所存である.

Title : Pathological Study on the Effects of Castration As Well as sex Hormone Upon the Sudmandibular Gland

Abstract : 1. Pathological examination was made on the striated portion of the submandibular gland of normal rat, castrated rat, and rat which received sex hormone after castrated. At the same time, body weight, submandibular weight, and the ratio of submandibular gland weight to body weight were measured. Furthermore, numerical examination was made as to the diameter of the striated portion of the submandibular gland by using microscopic micrometer, and measurement values were compared with each other and they discussed. 2. The striated portion of the submandibular gland of normal rats showed evident difference accoding to sex in both histological findings and numerical examinations. 3. Submandibular gland weight showed 0.35-0.45% of the body weight and the difference was not recognized between male and female. Therefore, sexual difference in the striated portion is not related to the body weight entirely. 4. The striated portion of castrated female or male rats showed an intermediate type of normal female and male rats. 5. As a result of administration of female sex hormone to castrated rat, the striated portion showed stronger feminization than that of normal female rat. By administration of male hormone, it showed almost the same masculinization as normal male rat. 6. Castrated male rats showed almost the same feminization as normal female rats by administering female sex hormone, and they showed stronger masculinization than normal male rats by administering male hormone. 7. In castrated rats, the effects of sex hormone on the striated portion of the submandibular gland was strong in the case of administerirg female sex hormone to female rats or male hormone to male rats. 8. In general, the action of male hormone to the striated portion of the submandibular gland is more evident than that of female sex hormone.
