Abstract　： 「はじめに」 神奈川県下における昭和48年度の死体取扱い件数は2,670体で, そのうち7.7%が小児である. また交通事故に関しては, 死亡者数552名で, 9.4%の52名が小児であり, 負傷者数は37,606名で, そのうちの9.3%を小児が占めている. このように小児に関する件数も一割弱に達し, そのなかには, 血液型を判定しなくてはならない場合も少なくない. 血液型は, 法医学においては, 個人識別・輸血・犯罪鑑識や親子鑑定等各種の裁判上の諸問題を解決するのに欠くことのできないものである. したがって, 現在この血液型に関する研究は, 体液・臓器組織はもちろん, 骨・爪・毛髪・歯牙などの硬組織にまで及んでいる. 人の毛髪の血液型検査法は, 1951年, 酒井らの報告から今日まで, 数多くの研究があるが, 検査に当っては相当量の資料を必要とし, 検査方法も複雑であったために, 安定した成績が得がたいなどの理由があった.

Abstract　： [Summary] Examinations of blood groups of the hairs of 90 infants were performed by the elution tests, with results as follows. 1. It was impossible to determine blood groups in some hair even when the sample was 8cm in length. 2. When the thickness of the hair was divided into three grades (80μ, 50μ, 30μ in diameter), differences between the grades were clearly appeared, and in the case of the same length, thickness is one of the important factors to facilitate the determination of blood groups. 3. The comparison between the hairs of adults and infants resulted in that the infant's hair was less determinable because of its small diameter.
