Abstract　： 「I 緒言」根管充填は, 抜髄ならびに感染根管治療の終末処置であり, 拡大, 清掃, 消毒が十分になされた根管系を, 吸収, 変質を起こさない薬剤や材料で気密に充填することである. このことにより, 根尖歯周組織へのすべての刺激通路を遮断し, 根尖歯周組織の安静を図り, さらに根尖孔における骨性瘢痕治癒を促進させることを目的としている. 従来より多くの根管充填剤(材)や充填方法が研究され, 応用されて来ており, 本学保存科では, おもに酸化亜鉛ユージノールセメントをsealerとしてguttapercha pointによるlateral condensation methodを行っている. 最近, 根の消毒および根尖孔部の骨性瘢痕治癒を期待したFRCaと呼ばれる根管充填剤が市販されている. FRCaは表1に見られるような処方であり, 粉末は水酸化カルシュームが主体であり, それにX線造影材が加味されており, 水酸化カルシウムの骨性瘢痕治癒促進を期待している.

Abstract　： Clinical and roentgenographic follow-up evaluations were conducted on 27 root canals of 24 patients, who already received root canal filling with guttapercha point and FRCa for pulp extirpation or infected root canal cases. The results were as follows : 1) Clinical evaluations showed successful prognosis of root canal fillings in the majority of cases. 2) Judging from the roentgenographic findings, the follow-up studies showed that 73.3% (pulp extirpation cases) and 91.7% (infected root canal cases) were successful at the periods of 2 years. 3) The filling in the range of 0.5mm to 1.0mm shortage from the root apex showed a better result than other cases.
