(Stern et al., Yamamoto and Sato., Stern and Sognnaes., Yamamoto and Ooya., 藤森, 安保, 田中, Vahl., Kantola et al., 鈴木ら).

Abstract : Abstract : A laser effect on the mineral density in dental enamel and the oral soft tissues were examined using computer controlled electron probe X-ray microanalysis and pathological procedure. A Rb laser and CO2 laser exposure at low energy levels were performed by our previous method, and following results were obtained. 1) The calcium and phosphorus density in lased enamel clearly increased, and the magnesium, chlorine and fluorine density decreased during laser exposure. 2) The above changing rate of CO2 lased specimen was higher than that of Rb lased one. 3) In almost the same energy density, the penetration of CO2 laser beam into enamel was lower than that of Rb laser beam. 4) No damage to the oral soft tissues was observed in both the Rb and CO2 laser exposed to enamel in this experiment. The above findings suggest that a CO2 laser is more advantageous than a Rb one in clinical application to prevention of dental caries.
