Abstract : 「緒言」ラット顎下腺終末部は出生後, 未熟なsecretory unitであるterminal tubuleをへて, 成熟した腺房を形成することが知られている. この過程で腺終末部にはterminal tubule cell, proacinar cell, acinar cellの3種の分泌細胞の出現が認められ, この内terminal tubule cell, proacinar cellは腺終末部の発達に伴い消退することが報告されている. Yamashinaらは内因性のperoxidaseを指標とした電顕的検索を行い, proacinar cellがacinar cellのprecursorであることを証明している. しかしながらterminal tubule cellに関しては, acinar cellへの分化を示唆する報告, 介在部導管細胞へのtransformを示唆する報告等があり統一した見解は得られていない.

Title : Morphological Change of Terminal Tubule Cells in Rat Submandibular Gland during Weaning Period

Abstract : [Abstract] : Observation was made of morphological change of the terminal tubule cell (TT cell) in the weaning period in 12-35 day old Wistar strain male rats. Further, as a result of investigation the relationship of the change in TT cell with early (15 day old) or late (27 day old) weaning, and diet composition and its property, and also the influence of various drugs on TT cell, the following conclusions have been reached. 1. TT cell before weaning had well developed r-ER and Golgi apparatus, showing active synthesis of secretory granule and extrusion and functioning as secretory cell. 2. TT cell after weaning showed decrease in r-ER, and contraction and flattening of Golgi apparatus, further exhibiting development of large vacuoles. As a result that the large vacuole has fused with the secretory granule, decrease in the secretory granule was observed. 3. It was confirmed that, because of such a change, TT cell was transformed into intercalated duct cell. 4. Enzymatic histochemical observation suggested that the vacuole as an autophagic vacuole by showing positiveness to acid phosphatase. 5. It was confirmed that formation of the large vacuole in TT cell after weaning is triggered by the weaning from the study on early or late weaning. 6. As a result of studying the change in TT cell after weaning by the use of powder diet, liquid diet and the special diet in use by the author, no difference was observed between these feeds and solid ones at all. 7. No formation of vacuole as seen after weaning was observed by administration of various autonomic nervous drugs. 8. Administration of thyroxine causes vacuolation in TT cell, and the effect was intensified by the concurrent use of hydrocortisone, findings of which was exactly the same morphologically as the change which occurs at weaning.
