Abstract : | [Abstract]: Experiments were undertaken to evaluate the biocompatibility of a series of newly developed glass-ceramics by using human embryonic lung diploid fibroblasts (WI-38 cells) and bone cells digested from rat calvaria. The biochemical reactions of fibroblasts and bone cells cultured on a series of Bioceramics which contain chiefly CaO, P2O5 and SiO2 (CPS groups) were compared with those of Al2O3, MgO and SiO2 (MAS-1-SiC). The adhesion, subsequent proliferation and the appearance of fibroblasts and bone cells on the surface of CPS group were significantly different from those on MAS-1-SiC. And it was observed that the adhesion and growth of cultured cells on these Bioceramics might be regulated with distinctive manners respectively. The findings also indicate the originalties of calcified and non-calcified tissues responses to these Bioceramics in vivo. |
