Abstract　： 「緒言」C-反応性蛋白(C-reactive protein value, CRP値 : 以下, CRP)は, 1930年TilletとFrancisにより, 肺炎球菌の菌体成分であるC多糖体と沈降反応を起こす特殊な蛋白として発表された. その後, CRPは急性反応物質であり, 非特異的に細菌感染症や広汎な転移を有する悪性腫瘍, 外科的手術と炎症性疾患や組織の破壊がある時にも出現することが明らかにされた. CRPは, ある特定の疾患の診断に役立つものではないが, その検出は疾患の活動性, 重症度, 臨床経過, 予後と治療効果の判定にきわめて有効なので, 広く日常の臨床検査に用いられている. CRPと同様に非特異的反応を示し, 以前から急性炎症の指標とされている血沈(erythrocyte sedimentation rate value, ESR値 : 以下, ESR)とその相関において, 一般にCRPはESRに比較して, 先立って陽性化し, 回復時にはESRより先にCRPは陰性化する.

Abstract　： Abstract : A search was carried out regarding C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) on 24 patients (12 males and 12 females) suffering from malignant tumors in the oral region and 29 patients suffering from inflammatory oral disease. The rate of detection in the early stages of inflammation was 0%. Regarding the CRP and ESR values, it was necessary to examine these two factors after the disease had progressed a certain degree and a prognostication had been made. In the case of malignant tumors, secondary inflammation coincides with this and has a large influence on the illness. There is thus a need to consider this factor.
