Abstract : 「I. 緒言」 高齢化社会を迎えるにあたり, 義歯基底面のリライニングの必要頻度は, 増加傾向にある. 現在, 不適合義歯のリライニング法には, 直接法と間接法とがあるが, 義歯と粘膜の適合状態が著しく損なわれていない場合には, 咬合関係を正しく再現することができ, 義歯を預かる必要がなく, また煩雑な技工操作も要らない操作の簡便な直接法のリライニング材が用いられている. 現在使用されている直接リライニング材は化学重合型で, 歯槽堤にアンダーカットのある症例や, 残存歯が傾斜している症例, また複雑な支台装置のあるパーシャルデンチャーでは, 口腔内からの撤去のタイミングが難しく, 時期を誤ると撤去が困難になる欠点を持っている. そこでこれらの欠点を補うために, 光重合型リライニング材が開発され, 長期経過後の臨床的観察を行ったので, その結果を報告する.

Title : Clinical Datas of a New Light Cure Type Relining Material

Abstract : With the number of senior citizens increasing, demand for relining the basal surface of the denture is rising. In dental prosthetics, two methods are being employed in relining ill-fitting dentures--direct and indirect methods. In the cases where fitness of dentures to oral mucosas is not impaired so much, it is possible to correct the occlusal relations of teeth without the outpatient leaving the denture with the dentist for repair. In these cases a simplified direct method that does not require complicated prosthetic procedures is used. Direct lining materials are mostly of the chemical hardening type. However, in the cases of a undercut in the alveolar ridge, inclined residual teeth and partial dentures with complex abutment pieces, it will be difficult to remove the dentures unless the operation is well timed. To overcome this and other shortcomings, a light hardening type relining material, known as TOKUSO LITEREBASE, has been development recently. In the present study, we made a long-term clinical observation in the patients using this new material. The following is a summary of our findings : 1. With respect to the adaptation of the dentures to their basal seats, the new material was in no way inferior to the ordinary chemical hardening type material, thus proving useful clinically. 2. As for the responses of the patients, stimulation was minimum so that the pain usually perceived by the patients in the operation involving relining was greatly alleviated with the new material. Moreover, the operators can afford to spend plenty of time doing prosthetic work with the new material, it was possible to form the margin of the basal surface of the denture satisfactorily. 3. No untoward effect on the oral mucosa was produced. Although a slight degree of exfoliation was observed with passing of time, the new relining material was compared favorably with the chemical hardening material.
