Abstract : 「緒言」 唾液の水分, 電解質の調整は, 主として線条部導管で行われると考えられてきた. 従って, 唾液腺主導管の形態学的研究は主導管が唾液を単に口腔内へ運搬する通路としての機能のみを有すると考えられてきた. しかし近年になってこの他に主導管が水分や電解質の調整を行い, 最終唾液の成分の調整に関与していることが報告されて以来, 唾液腺主導管の形態学的研究は活発になってきた. 齧歯類の唾液腺についての研究も多くみられ, その中でハムスター顎下腺においては, ラットやマウスのものに較べ腺体中で主として唾液の成分調整をする線条部導管の占める割合が著しく低いという報告がある. 一方でハムスターの腺房を構成する細胞の種類はラットと差異は無く, 漿粘液性を示すことも知られている. この様なことからハムスター顎下腺唾液成分調整機構は線条部導管に加えて, 主導管の調整機能がラットに比較して活発である可能性が考えられた.

Title : Morphological Study of the Main Excretory Ducts of Hamster Submandibular Glands

Abstract : Recent data have shown that the epithelium and subepithelial capillaries in the lamina propria of main excretory ducts(MED) of the submandibular glands influence the final composition of saliva by the active transport. However, as few morphological studies of the epithelium and capillaries in the lamina propria of MED of hamster submandibular glands were present, the structures of epithelial cells and subepithelial capillaries of MED were examined by light microscope, transmission and scanning electron microscopes using routine and resin casting method. And endocytosis of epithelial cells were observed by administration of ferritin via lumen of MED or capillaries. The present study were compared with those of rat which were already reported by many authors. The MED epithelium of hamster submandibular glands were composed of simple columnar cells or pseudostratified columnar cells with well-developed basal infoldings on the basal half of epithelium. And several groups of the cuboidal cells were scatterd among those epithelia. Many finger-like processes were shown in the wide intercellular spaces on the basal half of epithelium and under the cuboidal cell groups. Therefore, it appears that these epithelial cells are typical cells with a high water flux. Many fenestrated capillaries, with many pores in their walls, were observed in the subepithelia and deeper zone of MED lamina propria. The capillaries in the subepithelia had the vascular network. Number of fenestrae per 10μm2 area of endothelium in the MED of hamster was greater than that of rat. And the mean of distance between basal lamina of epithelium and subepithelial capillary of Hamster MED was shorter than that of rat MED. Therefore, it seemed that hamster MED had more active function than that of rat.
