Abstract : 「緒言」 近年, 歯科医学の進歩および啓蒙により, 齲蝕氾濫の時代は去り, 徐々に減少傾向にある. さらに, 口腔衛生について関心が高まり, 齲蝕予防を主訴に来院する患者も増加し, かつての齲蝕処置中心の診療から, 一口腔単位として総合咀嚼器官を育成することが十分可能となった. しかし, 発育途上にある小児は, 顎顔面の成長, 乳歯から永久歯への交換などさまざまな変化が認められる. このため, 健全な咀嚼器官を育成する上で患者, 保護者ならびに歯科医が一体となって口腔衛生管理を行う必要がある. 定期管理は, 生活環境が異なり, 身体的および心理的に変化の著しい小児を対象とするため, 画一的な方法では十分な効果が期待できない. そこで, 健全な永久歯列の育成を目的として, 個々に相応した, 定期管理方法を構築しなければならない. しかし, 現状の定期管理の来院率は良好ではなく, 目的達成は難しい. そこで, 我々は, 当科における定期管理システムの改善を図ることを目的として, その実態を把握し, 今後の定期管理システムへの指針を模索した.

Abstract : [Abstract] The purpose of this research was to improve the quality and to reconfirm the significance of the recall system at the pediatric dentistry of Kanagawa Dental College Hospital. We investigated the actual condition of 679 first-visit patients to our clinic from January to December in 1990. The survey of recall situation for 264 registered patients who were hoping for continued treatment and oral management. The results were as follows ; 1) The largest number of the first-visit patients were 3-year-old patients. The rate of age from 2 to 6 years old were 66.8% of all the first-visit patients. 2) The rate of registered patients decreased from 77% to 44% of all at first year and at 4 years later respectively. 3) The recall was not so good due to reduction of the number of registered patients. 4) The residential areas also effected to the patients' attendance. 5) The chief complaint for dental prophylaxis was continued for patients to attend hospital for a long period of time. 6) Due to continuance of recalls, the caries activity test has decreased.
