| Abstract ： | 「緒言」 現在, 日本では急速に高齢化が進行している. このような状況の中, 高齢化に対する対策として昭和54年から老人デイサービス運営事業が制定され, 運用されている. 高齢化社会において, 老人デイサービスセンターは高齢者の日常生活を円滑に行えるように, 能力の改善や, 環境を繕い与えることを目的とした施設である. 諸活動としては, 理学療法的あるいは体育学的視点からの身体面, また, ゆとりのある神経状態を創り出す精神面, 集団ゲームや創作活動における知的刺激面, 利用者間の仲間意識から芽生える人間関係の面, 最後に全ての生活リズムからの意欲の現れなどの5つの有効な特徴を持つと言われている. 老人デイサービスセンターの設置は, 虚弱な老人の生活空間の拡大もさることながら, 前述した観点から, 老人の社会的孤立を解消できる優れた方法の一つであると思われる. 例えば, 老人デイサービスセンターに通って様々な活動に参加しているうちに元気を回復し, 寝たきりから自立する, あるいは介護量が減る, 痴呆状態が落ちつくなどの改善が見られることもある. |

| Abstract ： | [Abstract] With the aging of society due to prolongation of the mean life span, intractable cases specific to the aged have been increasing in the dental field. To improve the quality of life (QOL) in the aged, various dental approaches have been used. At the Geriatrics Society, approaches to bed-confined aged people at home, dental epidemiological investigations, and questionnaire surveys of homes for the aged, and regular examinations have been reported. We focused on day service institutions in the geriatric day service management project that has been conducted since 1979 and carried out a questionnaire survey of managers of day service centers in Kanagawa Prefecture to evalute the status of prophylactic dental methods used at these institutions. This Survey revealed few dental approaches at day service institutions that can provide good opportunities to the aged who are difficult to obtain knowledge on oral hygiene in daily life. To improve QOL in the aged, active involvement of the dental medicine side is necessary. In addition, it is necessary to consider concrete field works such as participation of dental hygienists in care works and classes for people who care for the aged or emergency treatment. |
