Abstract : 「緒言」 健康の保持・増進のため, 国民のスポーツ意欲は, アマチュア・プロの分野を問わず, 年々高まってきている. それに伴って, スポーツ中の事故や傷害の防止への対策も種々考えられるようになってきた. とりわけ格闘技や, ラグビー・フットボールのようなコンタクト・スポーツなど過度の力がかかることが予想される種目においては顕著である. 一般にスポーツの種類には(1)競技スポーツ(チャンピオンスポーツ), (2)レクリエーションスポーツ, (3)健康スポーツがある. 競技スポーツは勝つこと, または記録を更新することを目的としたものでオリンピックや国体等がこれに当たる. レクリエーションスポーツはスポーツを楽しむことを目的としたものであり, 病気やけがのあとの健康維持・増進を目的としたものが健康スポーツである. しかし, スポーツを行う上で外傷や傷害がどうしても避けられないことも事実であろう.

Title : Effects of Occlusal Change on Myodynamia in the Entire Body

Abstract : [Abstract] The recent development and spread of sports dentistry had prompted studies on maximization on individual motor functions by using a mouth guard or a splint of a particular type. In the present study, subjects with dentition showing no problems in the daily life used splints of various vertical dimensions made of autopolymer resin, and the effects of the splints on the body of subjects were examined by measuring the back muscular and grasping powers as parameters of myodynamia and the vertical jump height and ball throwing distance as parameters of kinetic ability. The subjects were students. The myodynamia and kinetic ability with and without using splints of various vertical dimensions (2, 4, 6mm) measured at the site of Incisal pin in the articulator were measured. The measured items were prasping (right, left) and back muscular powers, the vertical jump height and ball throwing distance. The measurement was porformed in the order of without, with and without using the splints. For measurement without splints, the mean of the 2 measurements was used to minimize the effects of exhaustion. The best results of the measurement items except the measurement of the ball throwing distance were obtained by using the splint of 6mm in vertical dimension. Therefore, the optimum vertical dimension for elevation to enhance myodynamia and kinetic ability would be around 6mm (since this is the vertical dimension measured at the site of Incisal pin in the articulator, the actual elevation of the molar region is 2-2.5mm).
