| Abstract ： | 「緒言」Balters1)によって考案されたBionatorは, Anderesen-Hauplのactivatorから派生し, Moss2)のfunctional matrixの概念を積極的に取り入れた機能的顎矯正装置である. この種の装置には他にBimler装置, Klammt装置, Frankel装置などがある. これらの装置は, activatorと異なり, 舌に対する為害作用が少なく, 日中でも装置の装着が可能で, 筋の調節, 下顎の位置の改善に効果があり, 装着時の違和感や発音時の障害が少なく, 呼吸も楽であるといわれている. これらの機能的装置は世界的に普及し, またその治療効果についても多くの報告がなされている3～6). 日本人のAngle II級1類の症例は, 下顎の後退による上下顎の不調和が大半7)であるといわれており, その形態的な特徴については多くの研究報告がなされている8～11). |

| Abstract ： | Treatment effect of orthopedic corrector I (OC I) on growing Class II division 1 malocclusion without or slight skeletal discrepancy were examined by cephalometric analysis. Pre-treatment and post-treatment cephalograms of 6 patients who were treated orthodontically using OC I, were traced and analyzed with respect to maxillo-mandibular relationships including alterations of vertical dimension and occlusal plane inclination. Results showed that effects of OC I treatment were seen on increase of mandibular ramus height due to increase of molar height, counter clock wise rotation of the mandible, and increase of mandibular body length. All cases obtained appropriate occlusal relation without tooth extraction. From these findings, we can conclude that OC I is an effective appliance in the treatment of growing Class II division 1 malocclusion. |
